For those of us who don't have the time or
patience to wait for the dough to rise - here's a great alternative to
those Sunday morning sticky bun treats we all love so well!
Ingredients:
1 pkg. Refrigerated cinnamon roll dough w/icing (I use Pillsbury brand which makes 8 rolls but probably any brand will work.)
Sticky Bun Glaze:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/8 cup Dark Corn Syrup
* 1/2 cup chopped nuts or raisins
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to the baking temperature specified on the cinnamon roll dough package directions. (approx. 400 degrees)
2.
Put sticky bun glaze ingredients (butter, brown sugar & dark corn
syrup) in a medium sauce pan and melt together over low heat until
mixed thoroughly.
3. Spray 9-inch square metal
baking pan or round baking pan with cooking spray. Pour glaze into the
baking pan forming an even layer on the bottom.
4. Sprinkle nuts or raisings or a combination evenly over the
layer of glaze in the pan. You can even do half raisins or half nuts or
you may decide to use other dried fruits too. Be creative!
5. Open cinnamon roll dough and place cinnamon rolls topside
down into the pan on top of the glaze mixture. (You can either discard
the icing that comes in the pkg. with the cinnamon rolls or set it
aside for another baking project.)
6. Bake according to cinnamon roll pkg. directions. (Approx. 15 minutes)
7. Once the cinnamon rolls are finished baking and you remove
them from the oven, flip them upside down onto a plate and allow them
to cool before eating.
- Enjoy!
