Grand Canyon Indians / Native Americans

Native American culture is a vital part of the life of the Grand Canyon. The Canyon was and still is home and a sacred destination to several different Northern Arizona tribes, and experiencing their literature, music, art, crafts and traditions makes your Grand Canyon experience even more fascinating and meaningful. At the bottom of the canyon, Supai village is the modern outpost of a tribe that lived in and around the canyon for thousands of years. On the rim, you'll find fascinating books, beautiful Navajo jewelry, Hopi pottery, and traditional performance at a number of stores and venues.
